How Can Invisalign Straighten Teeth?

Invisalign is an invisible alternative to traditional braces. It uses clear, removable aligners that are designed using advanced 3-D imaging technology and the expertise of Dr. Mozafari, our Cupertino orthodontist. Metal braces require brackets and wires to move teeth, but Invisalign guides teeth into position using a series of aligners. Each aligner moves specific teeth, and they gradually shift your teeth into the proper position as your treatment progresses. The treatment can usually be completed in about a year, but your treatment can take more or less time based on the severity of your alignment issues.
Your aligners will be designed to fit your treatment plan. You will wear your aligners for about two weeks at a time and only remove them to brush, floss, eat, and drink. After you have worn your first set of aligners, you will move to the next set in the series. Little by little, your teeth will straighten and become properly aligned. Regular checkups about every six to eight weeks will ensure your treatment is progressing as expected and help keep your dental health on track.
